Once we have been informed about the claim, you can defer your 'indemnity period', which is the period of time you require cover for. This could be useful if, for example, there is a delay in getting contractors to fix the damage to your premises but you are able to operate your business in the meantime.
Your 'indemnity period' begins once repair work commences and lasts for up to 12 months, so you will still have cover when you need it most.
