Anyone who is listed under the "insured riders" section of your policy schedule is covered to ride your motorcycle, so long as they meet your policy conditions. Riders who regularly use your motorcycle should be added to your policy, so that we can ensure you know they're covered should you need to make a claim. You can add a rider to your policy by contacting us.
Any riders who aren't listed on your policy may also be covered by our open rider policy. This means that, unless any special terms* have been applied to your policy, any licenced rider who has your permission to ride your motorcycle will be automatically covered, provided they comply with our policy conditions and any applicable licence conditions. For example, riders must not have any unacceptable traffic or criminal convictions and must not have had any unacceptable claims or accidents (such as a rider using the motorcycle illegally).
Please see your policy document for more information on all policy conditions that you and your riders must comply with.
*It’s important to note that excesses relating to age and driving experience may apply to you and your riders. Please see your policy schedule for excesses that may apply and to determine if a special term has been applied to your policy.
If you'd like more information or want to discuss this further, please get in touch.
