Our motorcycle insurance policies have an open rider policy, unless a special term has been applied to your policy. This means that any licenced rider who has your permission to ride your motorcycle, will be automatically covered, provided they comply with our policy conditions and any applicable licence conditions. For example, riders must not have any unacceptable traffic or criminal convictions and must not have had any unacceptable claims or accidents (for example, a riding using the motorcycle illegally).
Please see your policy document for more information on all policy conditions that you and your riders must comply with.
It’s important to note that excesses relating to age and riding experience may apply to you and your riders. Please see your policy schedule for excesses that may apply and to determine if a special term has been applied to your policy.
Any riders who will be regularly riding your motorcycle should be added to your policy. This is a quick and simple process and ensures you know they are covered should you need to make a claim.
If you have any questions about who is covered to ride your motorcycle or if you’d like to add a rider to your policy, please contact us.
