Yes - the most we will pay for any one event where your tenants can't live in your rental home due to an event covered by your policy is $20,000 up to period of 12 months. We'll only pay these costs until your rental home has been repaired, rebuilt or is habitable again, or until we settle your claim. You'll also need to have a current tenancy agreement in place at the time of the event.
If you've chosen to include our extended landlord cover optional benefit, we'll also cover you for:
- loss of rent if your tenants vacate your rental home without giving the required notice
- loss of rent if you evict your tenants due to non-payment of rent (if your tenancy agreement permits you to evict your tenants), or due to intentional or malicious damage.
In both the above situations, the most we'll pay for any one tenancy is eight weeks rent, less any amount recoverable by you from funds held as rent in advance and bond.
You can find the full details of how we cover you in your policy document, under the section 'Standard benefit - cover automatically included', under 'Loss of rent', and under 'Optional benefits - cover you may have chosen', under 'Extended landlord cover'.
