You can choose to include excess-free glass cover on your home insurance policy with us, for an additional $69 per year. You can find out more about how we can cover you under our home insurance policy here.
Adding this optional benefit to your policy means that you won't need to pay an excess on a claim we accept for glass damage to your windows, doors, or built-in furniture. This benefit does not cover any of the following:
- damage, wear, tear or deterioration to your home that must be repaired to enable the glass to be fitted
- the cost to repair or replace framing necessary to enable the glass to be fitted
- the replacement of undamaged glass or parts of your home in order to create a match.
You can find the full details of this optional benefit in our policy document under the heading 'Optional benefits - cover you may have chosen', under 'Excess-free glass cover'.
If you choose not to include this benefit on your policy than the excess noted on your policy schedule will apply in the event of a claim.
If you'd like to add this benefit to your policy, please get in touch.
It's important to be aware that we don't have an excess-free glass cover optional benefit available under our landlord insurance policy. If you need to claim for windows or permanently fixed glass at your rental home, the excess noted on your policy schedule will apply.
