You can choose to include the excess-free glass cover optional benefit on your Comprehensive or Third Party, Fire & Theft car policy with us, for an additional $69 per year. Excess-free glass cover is not available on Third Party car, Classic Vehicle, Motorcycle, Caravan or Trailer policies. You can find out more about how we cover you under our motorhome policy here.
Adding this optional benefit to your policy means that you won't need to pay an excess on a claim we accept for your windscreen or window glass. This benefit does not cover any of the following items:
- sunroofs, glass roofs, mirrors
- headlights, tail lights, lamp covers
- any other glass or transparent plastics on your vehicle
- the replacement of anything attached to the windscreen or window glass.
You will need to pay an excess if you make a claim for any of the items mentioned above, or if there is any other damage to your vehicle. You can find the full details of this optional benefit in our policy document under the heading 'Optional benefits - cover you may have chosen', under 'Excess-free glass cover'.
If you choose not to include this benefit on your policy than the excess noted on your policy schedule will apply. If you have Third Party Fire & Theft cover, damage to your windscreen or window glass is covered only if it’s caused by attempted theft or vandalism.
If you'd like to add this benefit to your policy, please get in touch.
