If you've chosen to include our extended landlord cover optional extra, and you find your tenants have been using or manufacturing methamphetamine in your rental home, we’ll pay up to $30,000 for decontamination and repair, including reimbursing you for the reasonable cost of discovering the contamination. Please be aware this cover only applies if you have a current tenancy agreement in place at the time of the event.
It's also important to note that we can only cover you under this benefit if the level of chemical contamination exceeds 1.5μg/100 cm2. However, if any specific level of chemical contamination is set out in a regulation made under the Residential Tenancies Act, we'll only pay under this benefit if the chemical contamination exceeds the level outlined in those regulations.
