This is a building standard and specification similar to, but no more extensive or better than the condition of your home when it was new or last enhanced, using currently equivalent techniques and building materials readily available in New Zealand.
This means that if your home needs to be repaired or rebuilt, your insurance will only pay the reasonable costs to meet the reinstatement condition and will not cover the cost to improve or enhance your home.
This also means that we will only replicate heritage features if the currently equivalent techniques and/or building materials are readily available in New Zealand. We will not pay shipping or freight charges for building materials that are sourced outside New Zealand.
